This wonderful machine has been a Buffalo Landmark since 1989, complimenting the Restaurant, Motel and Amusement Complex under the ownership and direction of Mr and Mrs Emerson W Scott. Mr and Mrs Scott are and have been respected longtime residents and business persons of Buffalo. The Ferris Wheel sits presently at the complex which is located at the junction of Highways US I-25 and US I-16.Just think of the possibilities this has to offer! Collectors Item or Operational for Your Business ! A great Conversation Piece or Advertising Piece (Commands a lot of attention)! Built in 1936 by Eli Bridge Company, this wheel is the largest of 'em all, standing 66' feet tall, featuring 16 seats. Its first home was at the Utah State Fair; it then was moved and ran at Heritage Square, Golden Colorado, until it was brought to Buffalo in 1989. Unlike many ferris wheels, this one has only been assembled only three times, (compared to working carnival wheels,) which are repeatedly set up and broken down from town to town. CONDITION: Mr Scott states that this structure is in Excellent, Sound, Working Condition. It is powered by an Electric-Hydraulic Drive Unit, which was built by Wisdom Manufacturing of Sterling Colorado. When the need arises, replacement parts are easily available at any bearing or hydraulic supply outlet. The night lighting package looks to have been homemade, modified and installed.
