While the "one hour" MMC Circus at Disneyland is often said to have been so unpopular that it was soon closed, the show was actually only scheduled to greet Disneyland visitors throughout the 1955 - 1956 holiday season. Disneyland cast members from that era have long since talked of their difficulty in managing the live animals that were part of the circus and Main Street circus parade. More than once an animal would escape from the backstage area, only to be chased throughout the park by a cast member in hot pursuit.
