ORIGINAL 1930 WANTED POSTER John Stackley Wanted For The 1st Murder Of an On-Duty Bristol, CT Police Officer 8" by 11 1/2", this wanted poster, dated February 10, 1930, follows a February 4th bench warrant issued by the Superior Court of Hartford, Conn., by Edward J. Hickey, County Detective, Hartford, Conn. It shows side and front view photos and aliases of John Stackley, age 19, of Waterbury, Conn.; height 5'4" weight, 125 lbs. His record shows petty thief, paroled; currently wanted for the murder of a police officer at Bristol, Conn. on Jan. 16, 1930The poster has three horizontal creases and a ripple along the right side. Quoted From The City of Bristol, Ct. Police Dept. History"Officer Janes McNamee died in the line of duty on January 16, 1930. He was the first Bristol Police Officer killed while performing his duty. He was shot at the Ebb Filling Station located at the corner of Stafford Ave. and Washington St. while attempting to apprehend three car thieves.
